From staff reports

Kootenai Health Pediatric Services will hold a teddy bear clinic on Saturday at the hospital in Coeur d’Alene. The goal is to help children have a better understanding of how hospitals treat patients and reduce fear before their first hospital experience.

The Kootenai County Deputy Sheriff Association donated over 50 teddy bears and $500 to support the free clinic, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Kootenai Health Resource Center, 2003 Kootenai Health Way.

Children are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal and take vital signs, see operating room equipment, learn about medication safety, and try on masks and gloves. They’ll also get a chance to win a giant teddy bear.
