South Hill Great Harvest has new owners

Great Harvest Bread Co. reopens under new ownership Friday.

The husband-and-wife team of Trevor and Tori Plaisted, both 39, bought the business in September. It had closed at the end of July. They are the third owners of the Spokane franchise.

The past seven weeks, the couple has freshened up the location with new paint and other improvements, such as adding a wall to shield the sink and increase shelving, as well as redoing the floor in the production area.

Great Harvest specializes in Honey Whole Wheat, Farmhouse White, Dakota, Cinnamon Burst, Cheddar Garlic and Monkey Bread. Seasonal breads are Autumn Caramel Apple and Pumpkin Swirl. Look also for High-5 Fiber, challah and spinach-feta breads, muffins, berry scones, dinner rolls and an array of sandwiches. Soups to start are mushroom bisque and clam chowder.

Hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 2530 E. 29th Ave. Call (509) 535-1146. On the web: spokane.greatharvestbread.com.
