Wiggins is one of our best

I heartily endorse Charlie Wiggins for re-election to the Washington Supreme Court. Before that election, it was always a treat to watch him in action as one of the state’s preeminent appellate lawyers. As a current judge of the court of appeals, I have read every word Justice Wiggins has written the past six years. He continues to be a master of the craft. We are fortunate to have him on our state’s highest court.

Few people have Charlie’s experience or his legal gravitas. He is a very intelligent, but also a very humble person. He gives careful consideration to all viewpoint and does not shoot from the hip. He makes great effort to get every decision correct rather than follow some ideological bent to a foregone conclusion. He is a genuine scholar of the law and produces thoughtful, yet understandable, opinions that are well worth reading.

His opponent’s local newspaper endorsed Charlie because they appreciated Charlie’s demonstrated skills and hard work on behalf of all of us in Washington. We voters live up to our constitutional responsibility when we select justices and judges based on skill rather than political promises. We should exercise our right and return one of our best to office.
