Art in Bloom event returns Friday and Saturday

The third annual Art in Bloom event returns this week to the Corbin Art Center to raise money for the Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens.

The show will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is $5.

The show will feature fabric art by local quilters and artists.

Local florists will offer their inspirations taken from the fabric creations.

Artisan vendors will line the veranda of the historic Corbin House. A silent auction is planned along with wine sales.

Guided tours of the heritage gardens will be at 2 and 4 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Proceeds will go to the Friends of the Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens.

Funding will help with maintenance of the gardens, a restoration and reconstruction of the orginal grounds at the Corbin House and adjacent Moore-Turner House, which was torn down.

Plant replacement and repair of rock walls and steps are among the gardens’ ongoing needs, show organizers said.
