Liberty Lake police blotter: Odd behavior prompts police response

People behaving oddly attracted the attention of Liberty Lake police twice last week, with one man taken to a local hospital and another told to move along.

Officers responded to the 5900 block of North Canal Road on Aug. 29 to assist the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office with a man reported to be running around naked. Officers found the man was, in fact, naked and was also making animal noises. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment, said police Chief Brian Asmus.

Police were called to a business in the 1300 block of North Liberty Lake Road on Aug. 31. An employee said a man had been coming in for several days, but he would just stare at her and not buy anything. She also said the man had turned up at a local mall when she was there with a friend.

An officer located the man and told him he was no longer welcome at the business, Asmus said.
