Obama has had disasters
Regarding Joe Speranzi’s letter (“Obama ‘disasters’ look good,” Sept. 6): Yes, unemployment is down to 4.9 percent, but the 8.4 million jobs created for the most part are not 40-hour-per-week jobs. These jobs are less than 30 hours to avoid the Obamacare mandate that employers must provide health care for jobs of 30 hours a week, which Obamacare declares as “full time.”
Yes, more Americans have health care and that is a good thing, but more people are choosing to pay the fine as opposed to signing up. Plus, the cost isn’t as promised, as deductibles have gone through the roof and the monthly payment was to be about the same cost as a cell phone bill (as promised by the president) and that isn’t the case either.
The big error though is Speranzi’s excitement about the budget deficit, which is down, but not much. But pales in comparison to the federal debt, which is where his concern should be. It was about $9 trillion when Obama took office, and he chastised George Bush for running it up under his presidency. Well, not it is $19 trillion. We have a math problem.
The Obama economy has never reached 3 percent annual growth, which is unprecedented, and it has not served the middle class at all. Most of the middle class doesn’t care about the stock market, as it isn’t a measure of the economy, and that is why the economy is the No. 1 issue with voters.
Obama’s foreign policy has been a disaster… Syria … Libya….the Russian reset … the shady Iran nuclear agreement? So I agree that Obama has had his share of disasters, and they don’t look good.
