Spokane man sentenced to 25 years in prison for child porn

Spokane resident Steven C. Harris was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison Tuesday after he previously pleaded guilty to attempted production of child pornography.

Harris admitted creating child pornography videos using Skype and Omegle, a video chat website that randomly pairs users in one-on-one chat sessions, according to a news release from the Eastern Washington U.S. Attorney’s Office. He targeted juvenile boys.

Investigators found more than 500 videos on Harris’ computer and he traded some of them with other internet users for other types of child pornography, the news release said.

Harris, a former volunteer with the Boy Scouts, will be on court supervision for the rest of his life and will have to register as a sex offender.
