‘Trump Wall’ disrespectful

I was really surprised by the front-page headline “Student’s plan ‘Trump Wall’ ” (Sept. 10). It got my attention as it appeared to represent the student population at WSU.

However, upon reading the article, to my relief, I found out the “students” referenced are actually a very small population of students belonging to the WSU chapter of the College Republicans. The headline would have been more factual designating these students as Republicans.

The club’s president is quoted as saying, “I don’t think race is an issue in immigration.” It appears he has drunk from the Trump Kool-Aid solo cup.

As for the photo from the UW student event, I was reassured to see the symbolism of the female student with the Hispanic surname climbing over the wall. You go, girl. And everyone else who sees the “Trump Wall” for the disrespect and animosity it represents to our nation of immigrants.
