Clinton hubbub overblown
I applaud the recent column on the need to teach critical thinking in our schools. The general population too is often misinformed by falsehoods and innuendo regarding political candidates.
I scratch my head over the hubbub about Hillary Clinton’s emails and the Clinton Foundation. Hillary is 68, born in 1947, long before the electronic age. I would guess that the majority born before about 1970 did not receive any formal computer education, but “hit and miss” like me.
Do readers know that members of the U.S. Congress, Senate and House have private email systems that are exempt from the Freedom of Information Act? When Hillary was a U.S. senator, she had private email. This was her frame of reference as a senator in her first elected office.
Donald Trump, 70, says he doesn’t read books and he doesn’t do email.
The Clinton Foundation: $2 billion donated since 2001 to the world’s sick and underprivileged. No Clinton accepts a salary. The foundation has an A rating with 90 percent going to programs, not administration. There is no evidence whatsoever of “pay to play,” as alleged by the consummate non-critical thinker, Donald Trump.
