Colfax, Oakesdale atop state volleyball rankings

Mead is ranked second in the Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association rankings released Tuesday.

The Panthers are behind Auburn Riverside, which vaulted from fifth in the first poll last week to first. No other Greater Spokane League team is ranked.

In 3A, Mt. Spokane is eighth and Shadle Park is ninth.

In 1A, Lakeside is fourth and Freeman is sixth.

In 2B, three-time state champ Colfax is ranked No. 1 for a second straight week. Northwest Christian, Wilbur-Creston, Davenport and Reardan are ranked sixth, seventh, ninth and 10th respectively.

For a second straight week defending 1B state champ Oakesdale is ranked first. Almira/Coulee-Hartline is fourth, Colton is sixth and Odessa-Harrington is ninth.
