Liberty Lake Police Blotter: Woman accused of hit-and-run and filing false insurance report
A woman was arrested in Liberty Lake last week after allegedly leaving the scene of a hit-and-run accident and then filing a false report with her insurance company.
The accident happened in the Home Depot parking lot the afternoon of Sept. 20. A witness saw the accident and wrote down the license plate number of the car that hit a parked pickup and then left the scene, according to court documents.
An officer reported also being able to see an imprint of the license plate on the back end of the truck that was hit, court documents state. When police arrived at the workplace of the registered owner of the car she reportedly admitted hitting the car but said she left because she was in a hurry, court documents state.
However, the woman did call her insurance company and report being the victim of a hit-and-run in a parking lot, according to court documents. She was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and filing a false insurance claim.
