Trump budget dangerous

President Trump’s proposed budget is dangerous. It would gut public programs like Pell grants (for low-income college students) and AmeriCorps. In addition, it would eliminate funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts.

At the same time, it would largely increase military spending. Americans should not buy into the idea that more security spending will make us safer. Rather, we should remember that teaching people critical thinking skills, allowing them to experience the beauty of art, music, and dance, and helping those Americans who are poor and disenfranchised will make America a safe and sane place to live.
