Ninth-inning run gives sends Gonzaga to 2-1 baseball loss at Pepperdine
Joe Caparis’ two-out bloop single brought in the winning run in the ninth inning of Pepperdine’s 2-1 victory over Gonzaga on Sunday in Malibu, California.
After Jordan Qsar doubled to right-center, Wyatt Mills (1-1) fanned the next batter but Caparis’ followed with his game-winner for the Waves (13-13, 3-3 West Coast Conference).
Tyler Frost had two hits and the lone RBI for the Bulldogs (14-13, 6-3).
Gonzaga starter Casey Legumina struck out eight in seven innings, giving up five hits a walk and one run.
