Whitworth’s Madi Perez throws five-inning no-hitter in softball sweep of Puget Sound

Madi Perez pitched a five-inning no-hitter in the first game and Allie Rude drove in the winning run in a four-run seventh inning of the second game to lead Whitworth (27-6, 18-2) to a 10-0, 7-6 Northwest Conference doubleheader sweep of Puget Sound (11-18, 4-14) on Sunday in Spokane.

Perez (17-1) went 5 for 6 with five RBIs in the two games, hitting a grand slam in the opener.

Myranda Ramirez also had five hits and Tessa Matthews had five RBIs with her four hits.
