Science March expected through downtown Spokane Saturday

A Science March will kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Clocktower Meadow in Riverfront Park, one of dozens of similar marches expected to be held across the country.

The March for Science event is expected to run through 4 p.m. The marches are being held in order to peacefully protest the “anti-scientist policies” of President Donald Trump and many of his cabinet members, according to the March for Science Spokane Facebook page.

“It is time for scientists, science enthusiasts and concerned citizens in Spokane to come together to make ourselves heard,” the page says.

The march will also feature speakers addressing how science affects people’s daily lives and provide scientific information.
