Kootenai County deputies arrested a man Monday suspected in an extensive mail theft ring involving perhaps 400 victims.

David T. Perry, 34, of Post Falls, is suspected of 65 counts of grand theft, along with a weapons charge, skipping a court date and burglary, according to a news release from Kootenai County Sheriff Ben Wolfinger.

He had been the focus of several wanted persons bulletins.

Perry is suspected of stealing packages as part of a group of thieves. Several others have been arrested for alleged roles in the theft ring.

The mail theft accusations led to a $500,000 warrant for his arrest.
