STCU Best of Broadway lineup announced: ‘Something Rotten,” “Rent” among the offerings

“Something Rotten!,” the musical comedy about two brothers striving to find success in the theater scene of 1595 London, only to find stiff competition from some guy named William Shakespeare, will open the 2017-18 Best of Broadway season in October. (Jeremy Daniel)

“The Sound of Music,” “Rent” and “Dirty Dancing” are just three of the titles coming to Spokane for the 2017-2018 STCU Best of Broadway series.

WestCoast Entertainment, a division of Red Lion Hotels Corporation, unveiled the schedule along with its new partnership with STCU on Tuesday.

Best of Broadway brings national touring Broadway musicals to Spokane’s INB Performing Arts Center.

Season ticket packages range from $172.50 to $372.50. Here’s the lineup:

“Something Rotten,” Oct. 3-7, 2017

“Rent,” 20th anniversary tour, Nov. 30-Dec. 3, 2017

“Motown The Musical,” Jan. 24-28, 2018

“Sound of Music,” March 22-25, 2018

“Dirty Dancing,” April 26-29, 2018

Special engagement add-on shows range from $27.50 to $97.50. Special engagements are:

“Tuesdays with Morrie,” starring Jamie Farr, Nov. 14, 2017

“New York Voices” and the Pedrito Martinez Group/EWU Jazz Festival Dialogue Festival Friday, Nov. 17, 2017

“Mannheim Steamroller” by Chip Davis, Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017

“The Wizard of Oz,” Dec. 5-6, 2017

Darlene Love, Dec. 13, 2017

All performances will be held at the INB Performing Arts Center except for the Pedrito Martinez Group, which will be held at the Fox Theatre.

Season tickets are available to renewing and new season ticket holders as well as groups of 10 or more. Single ticket on-sale date will be announced in early summer. The deadline for renewing season tickets is May 31.
