Thanks for Easter column

It’s easy to find bad news in the paper and challenging to find good news, but on April 16 The Spokesman-Review published the best news, right on the front page!

I applaud Stephy Nobles-Beans for courageously standing for the truth of the Resurrection. I thank The Spokesman-Review for boldly placing her column on the front page. Although Easter remains a significant historical and cultural holiday in America, it is not always popular to proclaim the full truth surrounding it. (Consider Lee Strobel’s book and movie “Case for Christ” as a reference.)

How encouraging that Nobles-Beans is the coordinator of diversity, equity and inclusion at Whitworth. Christians are often accused of prejudice and narrow-mindedness. While this is sometimes true of any religion, it is not always true.

I stand with Nobles-Beans. I am not ashamed of the Gospel. I hope I could make the same statement if I were a Christian worshiping in Egypt.
