Spokane police arrested three minors accused of trying to carjack a man early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called just before 12:30 a.m. by a driver who reported that three teens brandished a gun and tried to take his vehicle at Northwest Boulevard and York Avenue, Spokane police said in a news release.
With the help of police dogs, officers found three teens ages 14 to 17 in a yard near where the incident occurred, police said. They also confiscated a replica firearm.
The teens were arrested and booked on charges including attempted armed robbery and assault.
Spokane has experienced an unusually high number of carjacking incidents this summer. Police said they are investigating if the teens were responsible for a separate carjacking incident.
