Vote for ‘Get Real’

I’m a great grandmother. My “greats” are 4 and 1. They are about to enter the Spokane Public Schools system. I never used to worry about American schools, but I do now. My remembrance of school is no more. The excellent standards that were held out and met are caving to the ill-informed and the religiously intolerant. Think immunizations and sex-ed.

So now you are at a crossroads. You owe the truth and the joy of knowledge to our kids. Give them the facts, so they are better equipped to help themselves in the future. We know that “abstinence only” messages in schools lead to much greater teen pregnancy rates in those states and school districts where this “blinders on” teaching is tolerated. Ignorance is what education is supposed to cure. Please, do not make decisions that will cripple our society. Vote for “Get Real.”
