Vestal hits bull’s eye

Shawn Vestal’s Aug. 9 column, “Denying the facts sign of the times,” hits a bull’s eye in skewering conspiracy theorist Spokane City Councilman Mike Fagan for his inability to distinguish between reasonable and unreasonable doubts.

Perhaps Sue Lani Madsen will try to even the score with a column in defense of her fellow climate science “skeptic,” but for me Vestal’s voice is the one that counts. He has long been a source of logical thought and political insight, especially on the local scene, and remains invaluable to our community and to the stature of the S-R.
