Try Fremont Experience

After reading Kip Hill’s Aug. 13 article surrounding the Pavilion, the conceptual design and the money earmarked, I have to wonder if anyone involved with the project has ever seen the Fremont Experience in Las Vegas? That idea was put into place as part of redevelopment to revitalize the old historic downtown area. Now tourists, locals and visitors assemble outside nightly on a pedestrian midway to watch a spectacular light show overhead moving the entirety of Fremont Street down to Las Vegas Boulevard.

For your readers who have been there, you get the idea. Seems to me there would be less weight than a cover and potentially at less cost. The lights could be programmed as a normal static display with periodic theme presentations for holidays and various events during the year.
