Accounting firm Moss Adams expands with merger

Seattle-based accounting firm Moss Adams LLP has announced plans to merge with Hein & Associates LLP of Denver.

Moss Adams has a Spokane office with 98 employees. No changes to the local office are anticipated, a spokesman said.

The merger is expected to be effective Nov. 1.

With the merger, Moss Adams will expand its geographical reach with new offices in Denver and Houston while also adding resources in Dallas and Orange County, California. Hein also brings a nationally recognized oil and gas practice, a new sector that will round out the existing industry portfolio at Moss Adams.

The merger will add roughly 300 employees to Moss Adams, including 35 partners, bringing the total headcount at Moss Adams to nearly 2,900 in 26 locations.

Revenue of the combined firm is expected to near $600 million.
