Recaps for the Seattle Mariners top affiliates for Saturday provided by team releases and wire reports.

Fresno 1, Tacoma (AAA) 0

FRESNO, Calif. – Rogelio Armenteros allowed just one hit over eight innings, leading the Fresno Grizzlies (73-60) over the Tacoma Rainiers (65-68) in a 1-0 win on Saturday.

Armenteros (7-1) struck out eight and walked one to get the win.

The game’s only run was scored in the bottom of the first inning. After leading off the inning with a single, Tony Kemp advanced to third on a single by Carlos Correa and then scored on a double by A.J. Reed.

Andrew Moore (3-4) went four innings, allowing one run and six hits in the Pacific Coast League game. He also struck out three and walked two. Jumbo Diaz retired the side in order for his third save of the season.

The Rainiers were held scoreless for the 10th time this season, while the Grizzlies’ staff recorded their seventh shutout of the year.

Fresno improved to 11-4 against Tacoma this season.

Arkansas (AA) 11, NW Arkansas 3

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Ryan Casteel drove in four runs, while Seth Mejias-Brean and Marcus Littlewood drove in three apiece as the Arkansas Travelers (59-72) beat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (64-67) 13-3 on Saturday.

Casteel doubled and singled, driving in four runs and scoring three. Mejias-Brean doubled twice and singled twice, driving in three runs.

Down 1-0, the Travelers took the lead for good in the second inning when Littlewood homered to bring home Casteel.

Arkansas later scored in four additional innings, including a six-run ninth, when Casteel hit a bases-clearing double to help put the game out of reach.

Ryne Harper (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief while NW Arkansas starter Foster Griffin (10-5) took the loss in the Texas League game.

Arkansas took advantage of some erratic NW Arkansas pitching, drawing a season-high 11 walks in its victory.

Modesto (High-A) 5, Visalia 3

VISALIA, Calif. – Joey Curletta homered and had two hits, and Reggie McClain allowed just three hits over seven innings as the Modesto Nuts defeated the Visalia Rawhide 5-3 on Saturday.

Art Warren got Tyler Baker to hit into a double play with a runner on first to end the game for his seventh save of the season.

McClain (12-9) allowed one run while striking out three and walking one to pick up the win.

Visalia started the scoring in the second inning when Baker hit a solo home run.

Modesto answered in the next half-inning, scoring four runs to take the lead for good. Kyle Lewis hit a three-run home run and Curletta hit a solo home run en route to the three-run lead.

The Nuts tacked on another run in the eighth when Rayder Ascanio hit an RBI single, scoring Logan Taylor.

Visalia saw its comeback attempt come up short after Ben DeLuzio and Mark Karaviotis hit RBI singles in the eighth inning to cut the Modesto lead to 5-3.

Cody Reed (5-6) went five innings, allowing four runs and nine hits while striking out four in the California League game.

For the Rawhide, Baker homered and singled.

Wisconsin 3, Clinton (Low-A) 1

CLINTON, Iowa – Zach Clark singled twice as the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers topped the Clinton LumberKings 3-1 on Saturday.

Wisconsin got on the board first in the third inning when Mario Feliciano hit a two-run double.

The LumberKings cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Louis Boyd scored on an error.

The Timber Rattlers tacked on another run in the seventh when Ryan Aguilar hit an RBI single, scoring Demi Orimoloye.

Daniel Brown (6-3) got the win with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Clinton starter Danny Garcia (7-12) took the loss in the Midwest League game. Nattino Diplan pitched two scoreless innings for his first save of the season.

For the LumberKings, Nick Zammarelli doubled and singled.

Eugene 3, Everett (Short-A) 2

EVERETT, Wash. – Austin Filiere had two hits and two RBI, and Enrique De Los Rios tossed five scoreless innings as the Eugene Emeralds defeated the Everett AquaSox 3-2 on Saturday.

De Los Rios (3-1) picked up the win after he struck out seven and walked one while allowing one hit.

Everett went up 2-0 in the third after Eugene Helder scored on a ground out.

After tying the game in the fourth, the Emeralds took the lead for good in the sixth inning when Gustavo Polanco singled to bring home Rafael Narea.

Clay Chandler (0-1) went 5 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and four hits in the Northwest League game. He also struck out five and walked three. Jake Steffens retired the side in order for his second save of the season.

With the win, Eugene improved to 5-1 against Everett this season.
