One Heart Native Arts & Film Festival - Sept. 8-9. Second annual event sharing and showcasing innovative, compelling and empowering stories from Native perspectives through film, art and music, celebrating the diversity and vitality of contemporary Native culture in our community today. The Inland Northwest is home to a rich community of Native American artists, writers, filmmakers and musicians. The festival celebrates their collective contributions to the cultural life of the region. The festival will include screenings of feature-length and short Native films, a Native art gallery, music and more, as it explores the vibrant, innovative and diverse world of contemporary Native arts. “My Artrepreneur Program” - The Idaho Commission on the Arts is partnering with The Art Spirit Education Collaboratory in Coeur d’Alene to offer an intensive course in business skills for practicing artists. Designed from the artists’ perspective, My Artrepreneur Program provides artists with a compass for navigating the complicated and often daunting task of building a sustainable life in the arts. Students will receive 40 hours of instruction from Dr. E. L. Kittredge over four weekends from July to October.
