Friends of Manito plant sale Sept. 9

The Friends of Manito will hold a garden-in-a-box plant sale Sept. 9.

Gardeners can order in advance online at and pick up the plants at the plant sale.

The three different designs – hummingbird, xeric, and fall and winter interest – are all planted with perennials suited for Spokane climes.

The hummingbird design includes hummingbird magnet plants.

The xeric “can survive without added moisture.”

The fall and winter interest will be filled with plants that grow throughout the year.

There also will be music, children’s activities, garden art and beautiful perennials, shrubs, grasses and tropical plants and succulents for sale, according to a Friends of Manito news release.
