Area roundup: Boise State defeats EWU in game that matches Hodgins sisters

Sophomore Braydey Hodgins scored 14 points to lead the Boise State Broncos (3-3) to a 61-57 victory over her sister, Delaney, and the Eastern Washington Eagles on Sunday in Cheney.

Delaney, a senior, scored 26 points for the Eagles (2-5).

Hayley Hodgins, EWU’s all-time leading scorer with 1,865 points, was in attendance at Reese Court. Delaney has 1,560 points and ranks third on the Eagles’ list.

Washington 93, Portland 67: Mai-Loni Henson and Amber Melgoza scored 14 points each to lead seven Huskies in double figures and Washington (4-3) cruised past the Pilots (3-4) in Seattle.

Washington led by 10 at halftime before outscoring Portland 32-19 in the third quarter.

Umpqua 85, North Idaho 80: Cierra Dvorak scored 24 points but the Cardinals (4-2) fell to the RiverHawks (6-0) at the Bellevue College Classic.

Men’s basketball

CC Spokane 105, Okanagan 65: Lamar Harris scored 22 points and Cameron Gay 20 in the Sasquatch’s victory over the Coyotes from Kelowna, British Columbia, at the Bigfoot Classic in Spokane. CCS is 3-2.

Everett 90, North Idaho 86: Iaian McLaughlin scored 22 points and Rayquan Evan 20 but the Cardinals fell to the host Trojans at the Everett CC Classic. Both teams shot 48 percent but the Trojans made seven more 3-pointers and five more free throws on 10 more attempts.
