The Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association is hosting a Mac and Cheese Festival and Beer Tasting on Jan. 13. Tickets are on sale Wednesday.

The event celebrates the classic American childhood comfort food with local chefs competing for a Golden Noodle Award.

Guests can choose from the $15 “Mac Pack,” which includes six mac and cheese tastings and is available for all ages, and the $25 “Mac and Beer” package, which includes six mac and cheese tastings as well as six 6-ounce beer tastings. Guests must be 21 or over to buy the beer package.

And all samples of beer and mac and cheese must be consumed on site; to-go boxes are prohibited.

The festival takes place from noon to 6 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Resort Plaza Shops, 210 E. Sherman Ave. in downtown Coeur d’Alene. Special discounted room packages are available at the Coeur d’Alene Resort by calling (866) 976-1257.
