The usual scam

Here we are with politicians, namely the Republicans, trying to scrounge up yet another unearned gift for their rich campaign donors. We’ll hear the usual lie about the religion of trickle-down and how it supposedly encourages the rich to reinvest their money and grow the economy, which as we have all seen, does not happen. It does not happen because it is just a gift, a giveaway, a freebie to those who already have more than enough.

As usual, this means that there will be less tax revenue and bigger deficits, so the Republican solution will be to loot Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and just about every safety-net program for those who have little or nothing else, just so their rich friends can hoard more money that they don’t even have enough time to spend. The Republicans love to talk about success from hard work out one side of the mouth, badmouth the poor out the other and then steal from them to finance gifts for the rich.

I guess the owners of this newspaper will benefit, but then more of their readers are going to have to choose between either eating or reading their publication.
