Boys basketball roundup: Nicolas Berman’s 16 points leads Cheney over East Valley

Greater Northern League

Cheney 59, East Valley 30: Nicolas Berman scored 16 points and the visiting Blackhawks (2-3, 0-1) defeated the Knights (0-5, 0-2) 59-30 in a Great Northern League game on Friday. Tyrell Brown led the Knights with 13 points.

Pullman 63, West Valley 51: Jake Wells scored 29 points and the Greyhounds (6-1, 2-0) defeated the visiting Eagles (4-2, 2-1) in a Great Northern League game on Friday. Cletis Hydrick led the Eagles with 26 points.

Northeast 1A

Deer Park 49, Medical Lake 44: Isaac Berglund scored 29 points and the Stags (2-2, 1-1) defeated the visiting Cardinals (4-2, 3-0). Skylar Johnson scored a team-high 15 for the Cardinals.

Colville 54, Riverside 46: Jory Dotts scored 11 points and the Indians (1-2) beat the Rams (0-3). Devin Lembcke and Ty Sandaine each scored 10 for the Indians while Cory Cross led the Rams with 11.

Newport 65, Chewelah 51: Koa Pancho scored a game-high 23 points and the visiting Grizzlies (4-1, 2-1) defeated the Cougars (3-2, 1-2). Elan Krausz had 16 points for the Cougars.

Northeast 2B

Davenport 64, Springdale 42: A.J. Floyd had 19 points with nine rebounds and the Gorillas (3-2, 3-1) defeated the visiting Chargers (2-4, 0-4). Enoch Clemmer led the Chargers with 14 points. Izaiah Bowdish added 12 points for the Gorillas.

St. George’s 55, Northwest Christian 36: Cade Peplinski scored 17 points and the visiting Dragons (5-0, 4-0) defeated the Crusaders (2-3, 2-2). Jake Gray scored 11 points for the Crusaders.

Kettle Falls 60, Wilbur-Creston 52: Charlie Andrews scored 18 points and the Bulldogs (2-3, 2-2) defeated the visiting Wildcats (1-4, 1-3). Matt Thompson added 17 points for Kettle Falls. Jason Townsend led the Wildcats with 15 points.

Liberty 76, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 43: Justin Jeske scored 31 points and the visiting Lancers (1-1) beat the Broncos (3-2, 3-1). Jeske sank four 3-pointers while his teammate Isaac Ottmar scored 15 points. Bryce Kelley and Easton Nelson each scored 10 points to lead the Broncos.

Cusick 71, Inchelium 19: Kobe Seymour scored 16 points and the Panthers (3-1, 3-0) rolled past the visiting Hornets (0-4, 0-4). Ethan Hardie added 12 for the Panthers.

Selkirk 61, Republic 20: Jay Link scored 18 points and the visiting Rangers (3-2, 2-0) defeated the Tigers (2-4, 2-1). Cody Kurtz scored six points for the Tigers.

Northport 64, Curlew 23: Kade Middlesworth scored 24 points and the Mustangs (2-4, 1-3) defeated the visiting Cougars (1-4, 1-3). Trenton Baribault scored 18 points and tallied six assists with four steals.

Wellpinit 90, Valley Christian 42: Tyrone Dorris scored 22 points and the visiting Redskins (2-2, 2-0) defeated the Panthers (3-4, 2-3). Sam Reese socred 12 points for the Panthers.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 68, Columbia 28: Reese Isaak scored 18 points and the visiting Warriors (0-2, 0-1) defeated the Lions (2-3, 1-2). Donovan Wynne scored 12 points for the Lions.

Pomeroy 66, Waitsburg 17: Ryan Wolf scored 13 points and the Pirates (6-0, 3-0) beat the Cardinals (0-4). Cade Branson led the Cardinals with eight points.

Colton 58, Garfield-Palouse 45: Reece Chadwick scored 15 points and the Wildcats (3-2, 2-1) rolled by the Vikings (1-3, 1-2). Daniel Orfe scored 19 points and Ely Hawkins added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Vikings

Oakesdale 60, St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse 42: Kieron Anderson scored 22 points with seven rebounds and the visiting Nighthawks (4-2, 1-1) defeated the Eagles (0-3, 0-2). Ty Harder had 12 points for the Eagles.
