Architecture

ALSC Architects has hired Jes Sink as a marketer and graphic designer and Devin Barwinski as a Revit specialist. Sink’s focus is on internal and external marketing and project branding. Barwinski is currently working on projects for CHAS Health and Central Valley School District.

Design

Joshua Beal Media Design has changed its name to Road Map Media Design. Road Map Media Design focuses on branding, website design, graphic design and commercial photography. Owner Joshua Beal served in the Army for six years as a multimedia illustrator creating antiterrorism campaigns in Southeast Asia.

Education

Susmita Bose and Greg Moller have been named fellows of the National Academy of Inventors. Bose is a the Herman and Brita Lindholm Endowed Chair and professor in Washington State University’s School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. She has published more than 180 journal articles and holds seven patents, with seven currently pending. Bose’s group uses chemistry, bioengineering, materials science and 3-D printing to engineer bone-like materials. Moller is a member of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences faculty at University of Idaho and an environmental chemist and toxicologist in the U of I-WSU School of Food Science. He holds six patents for inventions reducing pollutants and cleaning wastewater and has three patents pending final approval. Fellows of the National Academy of Inventors are academic inventors who have created or facilitated inventions that make a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development and societal welfare.

Finance

Michael Jackson, senior vice president, financial advisor and branch manager in Spokane for D.A. Davidson & Co., has been awarded the company’s branch manager of the year award, recognizing leadership, staff retention, support, ethics and client service. Jackson has been with the firm since 2009 and serves as branch manager for its two Spokane offices as well as branches in Walla Walla and Pendleton, Ore.

Law

Todd Adolphson has been hired as an associate attorney at Piskel Yahne Kovarik PLLC. Adolphson was president of the Student Bar Association and externed with the Center for Justice and the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office while attending Gonzaga University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. Adolphson has four years of experience in complex civil litigation focused on medical malpractice defense, personal injury and employment related disputes.

Nonprofit

Rosemary Muriungi and Sydney Russell have been appointed to the board of directors of Partnering for Progress, a local nonprofit that sends teams to rural Kenya to help improve health, education, economic development, water and sanitation. Russell is a CPA at Moss Adams. Muriungi is a doctoral researcher in Gonzaga University’s leadership studies and organizational development program.
