Eastern Washington’s Bogdan Bliznyuk wins Big Sky weekly honor

After a 30-point effort in one game and a near triple-double in another, Eastern Washington senior forward Bogdan Bliznyuk is the Big Sky Conference player of the week.

The honor is the first of the season for Bliznyuk, who averaged 23 points, 7.5 rebounds and five assists in an overtime loss at Wyoming and a 28-point win over Cal State Northridge.

In his most recent game – an 86-58 win over CSUN – Bliznyuk nearly had the second triple-double of his career. He finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists as the Matadors never led.
