Boys basketball: Gonzaga Prep holds down West Seattle to stay undefeated

Anton Watson scored 21 points and Gonzaga Prep (8-0) defeated West Seattle (4-3) 44-28 in a nonleague game at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington.

The Bullpups held West Seattle to 22 percent shooting and allowed only single-digit points in each of the final three quarters.

University 56, Wenatchee 39: Boston Tacke scored 15 points and the visiting Titans (2-4) defeated the Panthers (2-4) in a nonleague game at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

North Central 59, Cheney 53: Leon Sayers scored 26 points and the visiting Indians (4-3) beat the Blackhawks (3-4) in a nonleague game. Kaiden Custer and Justace Reiter had 11 points apiece for the Blackhawks.

Genesis Prep 55, Mt. Spokane 54: Jonny Hillman scored 35 points and the visiting Jaguars (2-2) defeated the Wildcats (5-2). Hillman hit two game-winning free throws with 5 seconds left in the game to secure the victory for Genesis Prep.

Clarkston 44, Shadle Park 41: Tru Allen scored 23 points and the Bantams (3-2) defeated the visiting Highlanders (4-4) in a nonleague game. Jake Groves paced Shadle Park with 14 points.

Pullman 59, Rogers 51: Jake Wells scored 19 points and the visiting Greyhounds (7-1, 2-0) defeated the Pirates (4-5, 1-2). Evan Nomee scored 16 points for the Pirates.

Stanwood 45, Central Valley 43: Mitchell Jones and Nate Kummer each scored 10 points and the Spartans (5-4) defeated the Bears (2-6) in the Curtis Winter Classic tournament on Thursday. Central Valley attempted to tie the game in the final seconds but failed to equalize.

Northeast 1B

Cusick 75, Selkirk 43: Ethan Hardie scored 21 points and the Panthers (5-1, 5-0) defeated the visiting Rangers (5-3, 4-1). Colton Hansen followed close behind with 20 points for the Panthers. Steven Davis led the Rangers with 11 points.

Colton Christmas Tournament

Colton 54, Entiat 44: Kian Ankerson scored 19 points and the Wildcats (1-7) defeated the visiting Tigers (1-5). Case Crutcher had 19 points for the Tigers.

Garfield-Palouse 60, Wahkiakum 46: Blake Jones and Austin Jones scored 14 points apiece and the Vikings (7-1) beat the Mules (1-7). Ely Hawkins scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Garfield-Palouse, while Tanner Anderson added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Nonleague

Pomeroy 54, Odessa 52: Jake Tewalt had 16 points and the Pirates (8-1) beat the visiting Tigers (3-5). Ryan Moffet scored 23 points for the Tigers.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 60, Wilbur-Creston 40: Maguire Isaak scored 28 points and the Warriors (3-2, 2-1) defeated the visiting Wildcats (1-7, 1-4). Alex Rusza scored led the Wildcats with nine points.

St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse 54, Valley Christian 42: Talon Danielson scored 12 points and the Eagles (1-6) defeated the visiting Panthers (3-6). Austin Giles scored 12 points for the Panthers.

Intermountain League

Timberlake 51, Priest River 40: Jordan Hardy scored 16 points and the Tigers (3-5, 1-0) defeated the visiting Spartans (0-6, 0-1).

St. Maries 62, Bonners Ferry 49: Jackson Pritchard scored 21 points and the visiting Lumberjacks (5-0) beat the Badgers (4-5) 62-49 on Thursday in a nonleague game. Chris Sabin led the Badgers with 16 points.
