A man was found dead in a car Sunday afternoon on Spokane’s South Hill.

Spokane Police received a call from a resident just before 3 p.m. reporting the death near the intersection of 18th Avenue and Arthur Street in the Rockwood neighborhood, said Officer Ben Maplethorpe. Attempts to revive the man were unsuccessful.

Major Crimes detectives were called in to investigate the death, but investigators do not believe there is a threat to the public, Maplethorpe said.

Police temporarily closed 18th Avenue between Arthur and Southeast Boulevard on Sunday afternoon. Maplethorpe wouldn’t comment on the age of the man, but said it didn’t appear the car had been there long.
