The Holiday Bowl pregame show had a little of everything – and something special.

Midway through its performance, the 350-strong Michigan State marching band surprised the crowd with its own rendition of the WSU fight song. The gesture received a big round of applause from fans of both teams.

Moments later, 50-year old SDCCU Stadium rocked with fireworks, a warm reception for a skydiving team and pair of jet fighters.

Attendance was announced as 40,072, with Michigan State fans appearing to slightly outnumber those from WSU.
