Hutto pleads guilty to murdering William “Bo” Kirk

David E. Hutto pleaded guilty Wednesday to killing William “Bo” Kirk in a road-rage incident on Oct. 22.

Hutto originally entered a not guilty plea for the charges of first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, robbery and arson. The Coeur d’Alene Press reports that the arson charge was dropped in exchange for a plea of guilty on the other charges.

Hutto was accused of following Kirk home after a road-rage incident, kidnapping Kirk and then killing him. Kirk was reported missing when he never came home from his job as an X-ray technician at Northwest Specialty Hospital in Post Falls. Kirk’s burning truck was located in the 23000 block of North Rimrock Road, not far from where his body was found Oct. 25 near the Hayden Creek shooting range.

Kootenai County Prosecutor Barry McHugh told the Coeur d’Alene Press that Hutto faces a sentence of life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for April 10.
