The Cataldo Catholic School drama program’s production of “The Lion King Jr.” opens Thursday.

Meeting will offer school funding information

The League of Education Voters and parents from Spokane International Academy and PRIDE Prep are hosting an informational meeting on the McCleary decision and how school funding affects them Monday.

Attendees will gain basic knowledge on the education funding issue and learn action items that can be applied at their school.

The meeting will be held at PRIDE Prep, 811 E. Sprague Ave., at 6 p.m. Refreshments and child care will be provided. RSVP at http://tinyurl.com/gp273mc.

Mead School District hosting STEM night

The Mead School District will hold a STEM night Tuesday.

The evening will begin with a presentation from former NASA astronaut and teacher Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger. Students and parents can then meet with representatives from local companies that support the school district’s STEM and Career and Technical Education classes and see demonstrations from STEM and CTE programs from Mountainside and Northwood Middle Schools, Mead and Mt. Spokane high schools and Riverpoint Academy.

The STEM night will be 6-8:30 p.m. at Mead High School, 302 W. Hastings Road.
