Taylor Pierce scores 19 points and Idaho women top Portland State

Taylor Pierce scored 19 points and Idaho (11-10, 6-4) topped Portland State (10-11, 4-5) 72-66 on Thursday in Portland in Big Sky play.

Mikayla Ferenz had 15 points with six assists and Geraldine McCorkell added 11 points with 10 rebounds for Idaho, which recovered from a 23-10 deficit after the first quarter with a 26-15 run in the second and an 18-8 third quarter to take it.

Ashley Bolston led Portland State with 23 points and six assists, which Sidney Rielly added 19 points and Michaela Kay chipped in with 10.

Idaho hit 17 of 47 (36 percent) from beyond the arc while PSU was just 6 of 25 (24 percent).

The Vandals face Sacramento State on Saturday at 2:05 p.m.
