Murray should resign

My wife and I are retired residents of Spokane, having spent most of our working years in Fairbanks, Alaska. We were both mostly non-political, but voted generally Democratic until President Johnson fouled up Vietnam so bad we could not continue. I served there.

We recently had an election. Sen. Patty Murray’s party lost the presidency. While Donald Trump would not have been our first choice, we both voted for him when it came down to Trump or Clinton.

We have watched with dismay as Sen. Murray has attacked President-elect Trump’s Cabinet appointees for purely political purposes. This is not what we want in a U.S. senator at all. The election is over and we want everyone in public office to help build a better America.

We have no faith that she can assist with this and so we are asking that she resign and let the governor appoint a replacement. She no longer represents us and is an embarrassment to the state of Washington and the United States of America.

Norman MacPhee and Floy Ann MacPhee,

Spokane
