Man killed in highway crash was a Gonzaga art student
The man killed in a head-on crash Friday on Highway 195 was a sophomore art student at Gonzaga University.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of our student, Alex Gill,” the university said in Facebook post Sunday.
The post includes a picture of a Gill with his mother, Jennifer Gill, who is a program coordinator for Gonzaga’s law school.
Gill, 20, was driving north on the highway about 21 miles north of Colfax when he lost control and crashed into a southbound semitruck, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Gill also was a graduate of Gonzaga Prep.
“We ask the Gonzaga community for their deepest prayers for Alex and his family,” the university said.
