Gonzaga has a chance to secure the WCC regular season crown this weekend, a feat that can be achieved by sweeping road games at San Francisco and Pacific along and getting the right results in games involving BYU and Saint Mary’s.

A Gonzaga sweep secures at least a share of the conference title, but they do not secure the No. 1 overall seed unless both BYU and Saint Mary’s lose at least one game this week OR if Saint Mary’s defeats BYU. Two scenarios exist should Gonzaga sweep this weekend’s slate:

Gonzaga sweeps, plus BYU and Saint Mary’s lose at least one game: The Zags would be 14-2 while the Cougars and Gaels would both have 5 losses, making Gonzaga sole champs.

Gonzaga sweeps, plus Saint Mary’s sweeps: The Zags would be 14-2 and Saint Mary’s would be 12-4. No matter what happens the following week, Gonzaga holds the tiebreaker over SMC and will be the #1 seed at the WCC Championships.
