PULLMAN – During All-Conference careers at Washington State, wide receiver Gabe Marks and safety Shalom Luani made their cases that they could play football professionally. Now the NFL wants a closer look.

The two Cougars will be among the 330 college prospects who participate in the NFL’s annual scouting combine on Feb. 28 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the league announced on Wednesday. There they will participate in a series of drills such as the 40-yard-dash and bench press, and also meet with team representatives.

Luani, Marks and their former WSU teammates who did not receive combine invites will also have the opportunity to perform for NFL scouts at WSU’s pro day, which will take place on March 9.

The first round of the NFL draft will take place on April 27.
