Whitworth women fall to Lewis & Clark in season finale

Ayisat Afolabi scored 16 points with 11 rebounds, Sarah Anderson added 15 points and visiting Lewis & Clark (16-9, 9-7) beat Whitworth (10-15, 6-10) 83-64 on Saturday in the Northwest Conference regular season finale.

Lewis & Clark earned the fourth seed in the NWC playoffs. Whitworth tied with Pacific in fifth place.

Madison Moffat finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, Jessica Thoens had 12 and Erika Kuehn added 11 for the Pirates.

The Pioneers got out quickly and led 24-15 after the first quarter, then pulled away with a 23-10 run in the third.
