Meyer slugs two-run homer to rally WSU to 4-3 baseball win
Cory Meyer slugged a two-run home run in a three-run eighth inning and Washington State rallied to beat 4-3 Sacramento State in Sacramento, California, on Sunday.
J.J. Hancock hit a one-double in the eighth inning and scored on Justin Harrer’s two-out single. Meyer then followed with his homer to left to lead 4-3.
Isaac Mullins (1-0), who pitched one-third of an inning in the seventh, got the win with Scott Sunitsch pitching the ninth for the save, striking out two Hornets (2-1).
Hancock and Andres Alvarez had two hits each for WSU (1-2).
