SmartRecruiters plans sales office in downtown Spokane

SmartRecruiters is opening a Spokane sales office in March that will employ about 10 people.

The San Francisco-based company sells systems that companies use to recruit and hire employees, including background checks and video interviews. About 40 percent of its sales are in overseas markets.

“We have cloud-based solutions that help HR managers find, attract and hire the best people,” said Bob Memmer, senior vice president of commercial sales.

SmartRecruiters also has offices in Berlin, London, Paris and Krakow, Poland. It was founded in 2010.

The company picked Spokane for a North American sales office because of its low cost of living and proximity to local universities and a skilled workforce, Memmer said.

Memmer has spent about 20 years in sales in the greater Spokane market. At one point, he was part of the Post Falls office of Jigsaw Data Corp., a San Mateo, California-based company that sold virtual business cards with phone numbers and emails for corporate contacts. Jigsaw was later sold to a larger firm.

SmartRecruiters’ Spokane office will be at 108 N. Washington St., Suite 203.
