Canada takes the lead

In November 2015, I applauded Canada for its commitment to take in more refugees. The time has come to reaffirm Trudeau’s compassionate and visionary leadership. By welcoming the refugees that my country’s leaders are too afraid to allow in, Trudeau and Canada are setting a precedent of courage and embrace, while the U.S. leaders cower and seek some corrupted version of self-preservation.

With their actions, Canada proves again that they are great, in the metrics that matter: hospitality, justice and unflinching moral principles. On this last point, Canada seems to esteem America’s Christian heritage higher than we will ourselves: I was a stranger, and you took me in.
