Washington Legislature in the week ahead: school funding, and oil pipeline rules

Both the House and Senate are expected to spend more time on the floor debating and voting on legislation that has been sent to them by committees over the last two weeks.

Senate Ways and Means will hold hearings at 10 a.m. Monday on an alternative proposal to revise the public school system and the way it’s funded and on a constitutional amendment that would exempt school districts from the current limits on property taxes

House Finance will hold a hearing at 8 a.m. Friday on a proposal to put more controls on the transportation of oil by pipeline or barge.
