Wrestling: Mead has 4 champions to win Pacific Northwest Classic

Chase Randall (106), Matt Jones (120), Devante Goodman (145), and Trevor Senn (182) all captured first place titles to help Mead win the 2016 Pacific Northwest Classic at University on Saturday.

U-Hi’s Clayton Fincher (285) grabbed first place in a thrilling 3-1 overtime win. Ethan Newman (145) and Gabe Sanchez (285) both placed second for 1A Deer Park.

University finished third, Deer Park fourth, Mt. Spokane sixth, Coeur d’Alene seventh and North Central eighth in the 17-team tournament.

Rollie Lane: Ridge Lovett (106) was an individual champion to lead Post Falls to the team title at the 2016 Rollie Lane Tournament in Nampa, Idaho.

Lakeland took second overall, Colville finished sixth and Moscow 19th in the 54-team field.

Lakeland has four champions: William Edelblute (113), Dalton Young (132), Larry Johnson (138) and Jared Walker (195).

Blackhawk Invite: Clarkston had five champions and took first at the Blackhawk Invite meet at Cheney.

Justin Smith (106), Jordan Welch (120), Klayten Babino (126), Spencer Clegg (132) and Jake Freeman (138) all earned wins for the Bantams.

Reardan had two winners – Justis Andersen (152) and Ethan Landt (170) – and finished second while West Valley finished third.
