Two arrested in connection with robbery of US Bank in north Spokane

Police arrested two men accused of robbing a US Bank branch in north Spokane Wednesday morning.

Antonio Poydras, 60, and Charles Fife, 53, were booked into Spokane County jail at around 7 p.m. Thursday. Both men have lengthy criminal histories.

The Spokane Police Department believes the two are responsible for robbing the US Bank branch located at Northpointe Plaza on the North Newport Highway just before 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to a police news release.

The two robbers apparently fled southbound, ditching their car in a parking lot near In Touch Therapeutic Massage on North Market Street. Police searched the area with a police dog unit and helicopter but appeared unable then to find the robbers.

The robbery occurred a day after two credit union branches in Spokane were robbed. Police said they don’t believe the robberies are related.
