Man stabs roommate in the gut after Seahawks loss

An argument over Seahawks football reportedly led to a stabbing Sunday that left the victim with life threatening injuries.

Timothy G. Hinson, 54, called police around 4:30 p.m. Sunday to report that he stabbed his roommate in the 1800 block of West Boone Avenue. When police arrived they found the victim lying on his bed with a wound to the abdomen and large amount of intestines visible , according to court documents.

The51-year-old victim told police that he had been razzing his roommate about his favorite football team, the Seattle Seahawks, when Hinson got upset and stabbed him, court documents state. Hinson said the two got in a verbal fight when the victim got too loud while watching football. Hinson told police that his roommate had headbutted him and grabbed him and Hinson stabbed him because he was afraid of being assaulted, according to court documents.

The victim was listed in satisfactory condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center on Tuesday. Hinson is being held in the Spokane County Jail on $100,000 bond on a charge of first-degree assault.
